About the Role
The Boston office of our client, a leading law firm, is seeking a Boston based associate to advise clients on a variety of tax matters. Associates in this position will work with various departments of the firm on a variety of tax matters and can expect to:
advise clients on the tax aspects of domestic and international merger & acquisition transactions, private investment fund investments and formations, and transactional and investment planning for public and private companies and tax-exempt organizations;
draft, analyze and negotiate tax aspects of documentation for private investment funds, including limited partnership and limited liability company agreements, offering documents and other fund documentation;
draft, analyze and negotiate tax aspects of documentation with respect to public or private mergers and acquisitions, financing, and other transactions; and
mentor and review the work of junior associates. (job ref - 0009)
Requirements
Qualified candidates must have 3 – 7 years of law firm experience working on complex U.S. and international tax law matters. Candidates should also have a proven ability to communicate effectively, be self-driven and able to work within a team and independently on various parts of transactions. A J.D. degree from an accredited law school and admission to practice in the state of Massachusetts, or eligibility to become admitted in that jurisdiction quickly, will also be required. Â
